Morning Day Cafe, Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies, and Penzeys

The kitchen hasn't had a lot of activity late.  Because of some health issues I'm on a very restricted diet.  That makes trying and making new recipes a bit of a challenge, although I have done some.

I broke up with the restrictions some yesterday, and went to Morning Day Cafe in Liberty MO with a friend.  I had a delicious roast beef on ciabatta with caramelized onions and roasted mushrooms that had a side salad of kale with apples.  I couldn't quite finish it, but it was really good.  www.morningdaycafe.com

I get a little cranky if I can't cook at all, so today I made Steve some Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies (recipe here on the blog).

I also got the chance to go to a Penzeys store in St. Louis MO a few weeks ago, and while I can't use most of the spices yet, it was fun to let loose in the store:

Having a little trouble getting them all into the spice cupboard though.

I did use the French Country Vinaigrette mix though, and it was delicious.
