Orzo/Pea/Parmesan Pasta Salad

I liked the dish, and would have liked it even better with basil in it (I left it out because Steve doesn't like basil).  But it wasn't great and Steve hated it (so maybe I should have just left in the basil!).  So I'm not sure about repeating it.

The vinaigrette is nice, with parsley, garlic, white balsamic, olive oil and salt and pepper.  Very fresh tasting.

I put out a cup of frozen peas to thaw, and started up a pot of salted water to boil.  Hedgie made an appearance to grate up some parmesan cheese.

2 minutes before the orzo was to be done, I added the peas to the boiling water.  Once both the orzo and the peas were tender, I drained them and added the vinaigrette to the warm pasta and peas.

And topped with a little of the parm.

It is very fresh tasting, as I mentioned.  I think it needs a bigger pea to orzo ratio (more peas!) and basil would be great.

Here's the recipe I used:
