Thai Beef Salad!

I love Thai Beef Salad!  If it is done right that is. I've tried a few different recipes and haven't been able to recreate what I was looking for...until now.

This is simply delicious. Naturally I will make a few tweaks, but overall, the recipe is good.

I gathered up the steak, lime, soy sauce, fish sauce, lemongrass paste, and Sambal Oelek. And I had leafy greens, Thai basil, mint, cilantro, and green onions.

I had a sirloin steak but flat iron or skirt steak would be fine too. Salt and pepper and a quick grill was all it needed. I may decide to marinate the steak next time with lime, fish and soy sauce. Slice thinly against the grain.

Herbs

The recipe called for 1/8 Cup each of chopped mint, cilantro, and Thai Basil. I really wanted more so next time will do 1/4 cup of each.

Dressing

2 Tablespoons Lime juice
1 Tablespoon fish sauce
1 teaspoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon lemongrass paste
1 teaspoon chili paste
1 tsp sugar
2 chopped green onions

I wanted more of this too, and will make double the amount next time.

And that is it!  Layer the leafy greens (recipe called for 4 cups but I did not measure), herbs, sliced beef, and dressing.
